WOW... is this even legal? Matrix Web Hosting.
Very nice plans and layout... I love it, but look at the names of the plans. It's like taking stuff from the actual movie!

They're all generic words. Sure there is an obvious link to the movie but the words are still generic, so it shouldn't be a problem.
If generic words became issues, many hosts who use things like "bronze, silver, gold, platinum" would be in big trouble too

Not saying it hasn't been. But, it surely seems like too generic a phrase. There is no best host. There is only the host that's best for you.

Did Mark make mention of trademarking the phrase?
On http://www.mchost.com "Host UNLIMITED Domains" has a trademark symbol next to it.

Yes RapidColo.com, Vortechhosting.com, and Matrixreseller.com are all the same co.. They will also have the same look here very soon as well..
Also there is no problem with the names, I love the movie matrix Yes that was why i picked the name and theme after the moive but it will never be a problem. Already checked on that..
I worked for Time Warner for 3 years before doing hosting..

Surely they just don't understand what TM means or they don't understand you have to actually apply for a TM. Some of the phrases they have TM'd are obviously not phrases or words that can be TM'd.

He will never get that trademark registered. It is retarded he is even trying (and arrogant). It is a common term and certainly not coined by him or his company. The DC we are at has been using that same Term since 1998 when they launched their hosting servers!
We have used it on our servers since 1999.
Every trademark goes through the same process. If the examining attorney at the TM Office somehow brain farts and lets it through, there is a period of dispute that will lay this baby to rest.
Kiwi is usually quick to change his debatable marketing ploys he launches. Like his use of the term "MC Host datacenter" and he changed the part where he said they host over 2000 *large* web host. I am sure Kiwi was just excited and thought it worth a try.
