K&N Air filters are they any good?

they say 50,000 miles before cleaning is required.

My filter might last 10,000 before it looks dirty. How can a k&n last longer?

They're oil based filters, which may potentially void your car's warranty.

I think they're quite a bit over rated.

I've been using K&N air filters and oil filters for years for my motorcycles and trucks. And NO they do not void your vehicle warranty. Depending on what your driving you can get more power, better gas mileage and change your motor oil less often.

K&N filters are made of cotton not paper. Go to their site the info you need is there.

K&N has acknowledged that some automotive manufacturers will consider your warranty as void if you install their filters. Please look at their site at http://www.knfilters.com/warrantyletter.htm.

Or you could look at the many complaints of people who have had their warranty voided: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search
