    Not able to attain Html table as I want it

    Ok this may sound silly.

    Am currently using NVU to design my site. When I draw up a table on my webpage to the left, I am not able to draw up another table right next to it.
    The second table I create keeps going below the previous table.

    For example ---- is a table.

    So I want ----- -----

    But instead it always turns out as -----
    -----

    What am I doing wrong?

    In the first table:
    <table align="left"...

    <table style="text-align: left; width: 10%;" border="1"
    cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td>Testing</td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>

    This is my first table. Now I want another table on the right side of this table.
    Can help tell me how the tags goes?

    Tnks.

    Hi sorry, I did try. Its not working. I still get the result of the second table appearing directly under the first table. I want the tables side by side.

    Sorry for the trouble.

    <table width="10%" border="0" align="left" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    <td>&nbsp;</td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <table width="10%" border="0" align="left" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    <td>&nbsp;</td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    Just tried this, and it displays them side by side. Maybe your text align style is interfering with it?

    Another option, though it would look pretty goofy and wouldn't be nearly as clean, would be to create a single table then place new tables with the first table's <td> tags. Tables within tables is by no means anywhere near the right way to do this but if it works until you can learn to use divs..

    <table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td>

    <table width="50%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td>Left Side Content</td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    </td>
    <td>

    <table width="50%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td>Right-side content</td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    as coded above, you have to nest them
    a new table by itself causes a line break
    tables should only be used for displaying text data
    With more success comes more expense!

    <table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td>

    <table width="50%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td>Left Side Content</td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    </td>
    <td>

    <table width="50%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td>Right-side content</td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    You should valign="top" on the parent cells.

    example:

    <table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td valign="top">

    <table width="50%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td>Left Side Content</td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    </td>
    <td valign="top">

    <table width="50%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td>Right-side content</td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    </td>
    </tr>
