seems like a DOS or a vulnerable script running in one of the domains. Are u running cpanel ?. In that case try enabling suphp and modsecurity

Keep in mind that http isn't the thing killing your server, mysql is. With 49% usage, it's got to hurt the server.

Could be related... Mysql should be using the 49% only because the httpd connections are high in number.

Since you are hosting just a single site, make sure you upgrade patch all your old forums, cms etc..could be someone using the vulnerability in the older versions

Or it could be that there are so many httpd threads that aren't completing because the mysql queries are taking an exorbitant amount of time to complete.

Have you tried throwing up a server-status page?

Also, install sysstat and setup a sar cron, so that way you can get some historical reporting on system usage (cpu load, %idle, ram usage, etc).

you can see all connection with command

    netstat -na

Or list ip's connected to server with count of connections

    for linux

    Code:
    # netstat -na |grep ":80" |awk '{print $5}'|cut -d: -f 1 |sort | uniq -c | sort -nk 1

Seems like your httpd config needs some tweaking. What are you values for:

    StartServers
    MinSpareServers
    MaxSpareServers
    ServerLimit
    MaxClients
    MaxRequestsPerChild

How much memory do you have on the system?
