    Bionhosting Service Questionable?

We have been trying to get our rDNS set up for 2 months with Bionhosting on our dedicated box.

    and yet RDNS Entry null

Is this normal? Why would it take 2 months to set up a Reverse DNS does this somehow involve the White House and red tape?

We are really getting slammed by our clients in forums that are very important to our business. This is killing us!!!!

What exactly is involved in setting up RDNS why is this so difficult? anyone have any suggestions
    Regards

I had that feeling. Basicly, TSD and Bion split up, as TSD left the data center your in. When TSD left, we took all of our systems offline to be moved, which included RDNS.

It seems that bionhosting has not brought a RDNS system online of their own, nor have they requested the IP space to be transfered back to the data center.

I can ensure you however that the request for the ownership of the block to be put back to the DC has been sent by me this morning, and you can procede to the DC directly if you want to get your RDNS changed.

If you have any more questions, let me know. I hope this explains it all!

    The DC

We did that as a last resort, just today

Kinda ironic though our email was refused by the DC because we have no reverse DNS

So we sent it via gmail direct to the DC

thanks for that info it sure shed some light on this

Well right now they wouldn't be able to do anything, as the RDNS isn't transfered back to them yet. Arin wont swipe it back to them til they submit it on monday then it wont be active til tuesday morning.

On top of that, it can take a few more days for them to add the ip block back into there own dns system, depending how slow they are.

You know you can setup an DNS server to server reverse DNS records quite quickly. Why now just do that.

That still needs to be registered with Arin, and that takes time.

As a final update, ARIN / CARO finally processed the IP block back to CARO.
