    TimPD

Alright, so if mods want to lock every single thread that pops up about TimPD. I will start another one. Because keeping one would stop from starting up 10 billion. TimPD screwed up, and the mods can't stop that.

TimPD owes me money too, although it isn't a large sum. It's still the fact that he said it would be refunded (multiple times) and it never has been. Not to mention he ****ed up both times he installed Cpanel ontop of a fresh install of RedHat. The first time after he rebooted, it didn't even come up because the disk partitions were ****ed (maybe because of the Optimize IDE drive option in Cpanel? I'm not sure.. whatever..None of my staff or myself did it.) then the next box he installed it on.. he couldn't even do it correctly and get everything within Cpanel working. So he had to "get nick from cpanel" to fix things on the box. Then he told me it was his job to install it, not make sure everything was working properly with the install. Some of this **** I had no idea, it was our first Cpanel install. Before this we dealt with no CP boxes, and plesk. So I went elsewhere, got a license with someone who actually has knowledge about the things he does and it was fixed PROMPTLY. This was over a 2-3 day period of time. So TimPD didn't get billed for the license either.

It's not the fact that it's alot of money, it's the fact that he ****ed up. Then he promised to refund, and it never came through.

jayjay - insulting a moderator is an offence you can be banned for, this is your first warning.

The thread was locked so I could have time to talk to both parties and sort it out.

I will let TimPD explain this thread to the forum in public, but please, if i lock it while trying to talk to people jayjay and you start another or attempt to insult a mod again you WILL BE BANNED

I think his first sentence is what xtstrike meant. Reason being that there are a lot of threads that target how TimPD has screwed them over... and they all get closed.

Would you really ban jayjay for disagreeing with your action? Believe me, I'm the last one to be a cry baby about moderators doing their job, but that seems a bit over the top, no?

It wasn't anything that I would have called an "insult," but the post should probably have been made without the comments about the moderators.

I see this as a difficult kind of situation for the moderators, though. Users can start as many threads as they want about such "evils" as cyberwings, AIT, CI, Verisign, etc. (certainly at least one of those will be starred out!)... but representatives of those companies aren't active members.

The operators here have made the decision that posts critical of other companies or reporting negative (and positive) experiences are on-topic, and yet have a hard time defining where the line is drawn. It's "OK" to criticize a company, but it's against the rules to offend a member. Makes for some tough calls.

Yes I would ban him, I would ban him because hes not listening to me, let me put this straight, im doing things in the background to sort this out, I had an hours conversation with TimPD and with I3 Optic and I locked the thread while that conversation was going on.

People were just blabbering on about stuff in there which they need not go on about, the same is happening in this thread, people are coming to conclusions.

If a user threatens to open up another thread once one has been closed then thats disobeying a direct action of a moderator, I dont lock a thread for fun

Do I Get paid for locking a thread, NO, Do I get paid for spending an hour trying to sort the matter out, NO, I do it cos I enjoy doing it. Moderators are impartial and thats why I and the other mods are moderators.

If you disagree with the action of a moderator then e-mail them, im open for discussion, but im not open for discussion of my and other moderators actions being discussed publicly.

I dont know if TimPD is right or wrong, he might be the worst businessman you have ever come across, but that still doesnt get us past the fact that I locked a thread for a good reason, then someone comes along and publicly shames me for locking it.

So In Summary, Im Sorthing things out in the background, im locking threads while im sorting them, you disagree, e-mail me, you start another thread, ill ban whoever starts it, and thats final.

This thread can stay open as long as you dont start posting crap in it (as you all did with the last one)

xstrike, you better ban me now then. You will know when I'm being offensive or rude to you. Trust me, and I haven't yet begun to be offensive or rude to you or any other moderators. I have been a respected member of these boards, and have not caused any troubles.

You want to be a dictator? Go ahead.

im doing things in the background to sort this out,
What can you do? He owes me money. A bunch of other people too. Can you make him refund the money? Probley not. How can YOU deal with that? Answer me that please.

The reason to bring things to a public forum to give answers, that obvouisly TimPD is NOT doing.

If a user threatens to open up another thread once one has been closed then thats disobeying a direct action of a moderator, I dont lock a thread for fun
Ok.. right.. Are you 10 years old? Please grow up. We're adults here. (some of us.)

Welcome to life!! If this was the only time it was done, but Chicken has done it in the past, and it's been done and done and done over and over again.. It almost seems as if someone is protecting him. I know, you're not. But hell, you're doing something. Closing each thread about him, is just going to start more. Common sense,eh?

Do I Get paid for locking a thread, NO, Do I get paid for spending an hour trying to sort the matter out, NO, I do it cos I enjoy doing it. Moderators are impartial and thats why I and the other mods are moderators.
    Nobody said you got paid.

Right. I really offended your online ego, eh?

To sum it up, ban me if you want. I could careless, I come here to share my knowledge and gain knowledge. I do not get any business from this forum. Frankly, I do not want the business. Because the people coming here want you to give them everything for nothing.

If you're really offended by this and the starting post, I'm not sorry. I will tell you that you need to grow up, and loose your ego.

I will just join with a proxy, and continue to use a proxy to do what I do on these boards.

Everybody knows the truth about TimPD, if you want to try and play a parent role to him that obvouisly hasn't worked on his growing up. Have fun wasting your time.

I think now is the time to say that I agree with archie. You shouldn't really use WHT to get your money back from Tim - IMO, the threads like "TimPD owes me X amount of dollars" should be closed.

Just as tech support should be handled off forums, so should any billing/payment issues...

It's called 3rd party arbitration - a neutral to the issue will talk to the two sides to see if things can get solved in a civilized manner - bashing Tim publicly for not paying up isn't civilized

It's not worth it. The costs of a 3rd party would make it stupid.

The whole point of this thread, was because every single other thread about him is closed. Thus spreading more threads. I'm showing an example.

    I'm sure you define "civilized".

As much as I see and respect what you're saying Akash, it seem that to some people (not just TimPD but others too which I've had the misfortune to deal with), a thread on WHT is their worst nightmare.

They are quite happy to string along people forever but when anyone mentions starting a thread on WHT its amazing how quickly they find some cash to pay their debt or put things right in another way.

I know that threads such as this must be a nightmare for the mods so I can see both sides of the coin. I'm not speaking for or against anything here but thought I'd put my 2p in

Not to mention that TimPD is under the age of 18 and a collection agency can't do much about it.

I'm sorry Xstrike, but I must disagree with some of your dictums, and I disagree 100% with the manner in which you have handled this situation. Your statements and actions are public, as will be my disagreement with them.

I agree with jayjay as well xstrike..

    1) it is not your place or job to try and mediate any decision between people. I've noticed a lot of it myself, the instant closing of Tim threads, if you have to close his threads that much maybe he's the one you should be banning.

    2) The point of threads like this is to make sure people are AWARE of his past, if it results in him paying his bills thats fine and great, but if you can't handle the fact that a forum member (TimPD) has ripped off countless people and there WILL constantly be threads about him, then you either need some more rules, leave the threads alone or don't moderate. If people can't say their peace about someone who screwed them over then this forum has become nothing but a advertising avenue with no real value.

Well, seeing as I work for a collection agency, you could go after the money from the parents as they are liable for his actions.

inogenius- Contact me via email, if you would like to get your company some business. Although TimPD has just responded to me via PM and said he'd like to do it via paypal. If that doesn't go through, I will be sure to contact you.

Yes, that's right. The evil thread from hell, that has pissed off many people and raised some eye brows. FINALLY got attention of TimPD after months of him promising a refund.

I will keep you all updated on this process.

After more than 3 months of promising a refund.

This thread has finally caught the attention of TimPD. He has promptly given me a refund via paypal.

Although he tried to tell me that I did not tell him it didn't go through, I've talked with him via IM and sent him a PM mentioning that it never went through. So I know that is not the case.

But it doesn't matter anymore, because it's finished.

Now this is where the MODS could jump in and close the thread, because it's been RESOLVED.

xstrike, feel free to contact me via E-mail or PM if you want to discuss anything.

    I got two things:
A: A collection agency will work. His paretns are liable. It will mess up his parents credit if they do not pay(assuming everything is in order)

    B. I think this is a right place, mabey not to get your money back, but to warn people. WHo cares about his age, or whatnot, what I have seen is that multiple people have claimed that he wdoes not pay money on time, and without extreme nagging. This post should serve as a warning to others who plan to work with tim. This is no different then someone talking about a bad host.

I'm proud to say that Bobbie Jo and her baby will be fine. Although they have been shipped back to Canada.

Uncle Jesse will loose his farm because he's an illegal alien.

I'd have to agree with Daniel here. Banning jayjay would be ridiculous. Yes he did undermine the authority of the mods, but a warning is sufficient.

Banning Tim - that would set a precedent - I can't remember any other host or individual being banned specifically for acting in such fraudulent manners.

Anywho, I'm not sided on the issue - I don't know the whole story, only Tim and his customers (and I say that lightly) do. Maybe the two banks didn't communicate well enough and bounced the checks; or maybe he really didn't have any funds in his account. That said, asking for payment should be handled off forums; warning others (ie, "Tim has not paid up yet") shouldn't be a problem; bashing Tim (ie, "I'd love to get my hands on that little brat") just lowers you down to his level.

Yes, but for all we know. He has nothing to do with his parents, might not even live with them. He could be living with friends or something. I was at the age of 16. So it could do more harm than good. But, it would have been thought about after this post.

    B. I think this is a right place, mabey not to get your money back, but to warn people. Correct, I've communicated with Tim several times since he we agreed on a refund. If I didn't post this then people wouldn't know about his business practices. I wouldn't have got my money back without going through extensive measures and hurting a few peoples credit records.

xstrike, probley got mad because he butted in where other mods have been closing threads. I wasn't directing that soley at him, but all fo the mods who close TimPD threads when there is NO RESOLUTION. He took it a tad bit personal, but maybe he's having a bad day. To each it's own.

    Really?

I thought it was because Boss Hogg horn swaggled him and the Duke Boys into another scheme and stole it from him. Last I heard Bo and Luke were supposed to race Rosco for the deed.

What happened with the race? Where is Flash? Did Boss eat her for a snack?

    Yup.

I thought it was because Boss Hogg horn swaggled him and the Duke Boys into another scheme and stole it from him. Last I heard Bo and Luke were supposed to race Rosco for the deed.
The deed is safe for now, but Bo and Luke are secretly having relationship problems and it's hurting their game. I don't know if they are up for the race against Rosco. I bet in due time, once they get their heads straight. They can kick his butt.

What happened with the race? Where is Flash? Did Boss eat her for a snack?
The race will happen again. In a new place (InTheMiddleOfNowhere, Canada). Flash flew to the moon with the Russian space monkey and Boss had Melissa for a snack.
