    Problems with httpd after installing xCache

    I just finished installing xCache and restart httpd it isnt starting up

    [email protected] [~]# service httpd start
    (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
    no listening sockets available, shutting down
    Unable to open logs
    [email protected] [~]#

    Are you sure that web-server doesn't already run. Because what I see is try to start the web-server and not restart it.

    Something is already binding to port 80. Now, you just need to find out what.

    Solution #1:
    stop http
    Code:
    service httpd stop
    If that doesn't work, then try solution #2:
    force all http processes to stop
    Code:
    killall -9 httpd
    If THAT doesn't work, then there's always solution #3 (the really extreme solution)
    Code:
    shutdown -r now
    Of course, before doing ANY of these, make sure it's actually http listening on port 80 and not something else.

    Try and find out what's on port 80.

    If it's not httpd as linux-tech suggested, which is probably is.

    netstat -an |grep :80 |wc -l
    or
    netstat -tulpn| grep :80
