Problems with httpd after installing xCache
I just finished installing xCache and restart httpd it isnt starting up
[email protected] [~]# service httpd start
(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
[email protected] [~]#
What all modifications did you did on httpd conf file?
Are you sure that web-server doesn't already run. Because what I see is try to start the web-server and not restart it.
Something is already binding to port 80. Now, you just need to find out what.
If that doesn't work, then try solution #2:
force all http processes to stop
If THAT doesn't work, then there's always solution #3 (the really extreme solution)
Of course, before doing ANY of these, make sure it's actually http listening on port 80 and not something else.

Try and find out what's on port 80.
