Please paste the error you're getting in the login_log, /usr/local/cpanel/logs/login_log. Also check the cpanel error_log in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/ for any errors.

Please make sure that /etc/proftpd/user have the same password hash as the password hash for the cPanel account in /etc/shadow. Make sure that the correct ownership and group set on the account's home directory and its subfolders.

Sometimes /scripts/suspendacct and then /scripts/unsuspendacct help in such cases.

If the above did not help, please paste the errors you get from /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when login to cPanel.

    drpepo,
You're going to get a lot of speculation here from a lot of armchair quarterbacks with minimal experience.

I'd strongly suggest contacting your server administrator and having them resolve this if you haven't already, because keeping people waiting so you can get 'free support' isn't really the way to run a reasonable business. In fact, it'll have just the opposite affect.

Try changing the user's password inside of CPanel. If that doesn't work, then contact your server admin, because something is clearly wrong.

    Linux-tech,

First of all for the issue mentioned by the person, the solutions that are added above may work. I am sure you would agree there is no fixed answer for a particular issue. We reply here solutions that we tried from our experience. Suppose if someone say things that are really not relevant, you can point out that for sure.
