    Retrieving domain control

    Hello,

One of my client got his domain registered previously with another web development firm. This firm is now refusing to transfer the domain but have sent us the password.

So, we know the password and the domain name but have no idea where the domain was registered or the username.

Is there some way we can find out where they registered the domain so that we can contact them?

    Thanks,
    Jatinder

Do a WHOIS and see what whois server is providing the info. (ie: whois.godaddy.com, whois.enom.com)

You may well still need the username though. With a little luck they didnt give you the username because some registrars use the domain name as the login name.

Remember if you get in change the registrant info and password.
