Shared Exchange Hosting

I was just wondering if anyone else here is selling shared exchange hosting. Thats what we call it at least; its MS exchange 2003 using the RPC connector.
My issue is with Outlook 2007 clients not all being able to support the RPC out of the box, and usually needing a registry key added. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I'm trying to cut down on the number of on-site or long over the phone installs we are doing.
I've tried the profile creator, but still need the registry edit to make it function properly.
thanks in advance,
Alex

we have never had a problem with this, and never had to make any reg key hack on a clients machine.

I wonder what kind of Exchange Hosting platform you are using, and how the permissions and provisioning are done.

One thing i would check is to make sure the client machines have Windows XP Service pack 2. Without that the client machines will not be able to use RPC/HTTP unless the hack is in place.

Also, another option is to give your customers a restricted VPN account.

we are using exchange 2003 enterprise. all client machines do have SP2, and work fine with outlook 2003. the issue only comes up with exchange 2007 as it does not seem to have built in functionality for RPC connection.
