Make sure you have th dns records correct for the www entry as well.

Confirm this using an nslookup . If the A record is not setup correctly, change the A record to point to the new server

There are a number of reasons for this:
#1: Your dns is still cached (@ home). Clean out your home dns cache

#2: Your ISP still has www. cached. This happens from time to time. In this case, I'd suggest using OpenDNS, in fact I'd suggest using it anyways just because it's much better than standard ISP dns structures.

#3: There's a problem with the dns entry @ the host. Use intodns to check it out, if it posts back errors, then fix them.

Also, when this occurs if you're using a Windows box, quite often it's simply a matter of clearing out your own PC's DNS cache as linux-tech mentioned. To do this close all browser windows and command prompts, open a new command prompt, type: ipconfig /flushdns

Then type: ping mydomain.com (or www)

It should take a second then return with the correct IP.
