What makes you want to go to a 'fair/carnival'?

I go to make friends with the staff and just make friends in general basically (I dont really go on any rides very often,i would rather help out (More fun to me))

I've been to a couple of county fairs but I don't usually go because it's too expensive and the rides themselves look dangerous. I would save money and have more fun just getting together with some friends and playing some games.

I usually go to a fair because I like the food. The rides were only fun when I was younger.

Just getting to see people and take in the whole fair atmosphere. Plus the fireworks at the end. I don't really trust any of the rides at a fair/carnival - since they're not permanent there's no guarantee they're properly supported or stable.

No option for "don't go back every year". I grew up in the city, there was no fair/carnival, although there was Coney Island.

Few year back it was a different idea going to fair/carnival, but now its my kids who make me going in there. Its the smile and happiness on their cute little face that make us going to places that we would rather skip.
