    * To Shaghost! [ripper]

Well why you're mentioning stealing someones source in the other thread then I need to ask you a couple of question dealing with your hosting biz and slabhost.

OK for the ppl who wanna investigate heres the links:

    http://www.slabhost.com [original]

    http://www.shaghost.com [ripper]

    1. Your meta keywords are the exact like 5 paragraphs long.
    2. You used the same flash sound as slabhost.com.
    3. You've used the same scheme on many of your pages( tables, popups, etc.)
    4. You have a lot of the same javascripts and such.

I've considered many possiblities for this as maybe its by the same owner but it don't seem to be so. Your just so very similar.

If you view source and flip between the two the first half is almost the same ;-)

The meta tags are the giveaway ;-)

    Good catch.

The company names even sound the same... but yes... the meta tags give it away

Love these threads started by those with 1 post who accuse someone of ripping etc. Kids these days.

If you want to accuse someone in public, at least have the guts to use your real username.

Don't think they are the same.

Slabhost.com is registered to someone in Arkansas, while Shaghost.com is registered to someone from Rhode Island.

As far as I know, #1, 2, and 4 are all items that anyone is free to use. Did the "original" host create the music file, and javascripts?

How are these the same exactly??
    1. Meta keywords cannot be copyrighted and probably are the same for most hosting companies...
    2. What sound?? No sound on SlabHost...
    3. Who doesn't use tables in their design? The site is completely different.
    4. huh? Do you mean rollover effects?

There is a difference between using someone else's stuff and copying it.

Yes, they are common terms, but to be identical?

It's wrong to use someone's keywords as it attempts to steal their place on search engines.

I agree that it is an uncivilized act (meta-tags)...which should be frowned upon... but then again this isn't a legal issue...

Though.... how do we know that you didn't copy them

Just compare the javascripts in the source, and they use to have the sound on an animation.

I'm not disputing that they borrowed some keywords etc. I just thought if you're going to stand up and accuse someone in public, then at least use your real WHT username. You just signed up for the ultratorture username today.

Maybe so, if that host included the original companies name in their MetaTags, or something like that. However, they are all generic words and free for the public to use.

Are you saying that only ONE webhost is granted the right to use all those phrases in their MetaTags?

Nope but it looks sus when someone with 1 post makes these public accusations. They should make these kinds of posts with their real WHT username, IMO. Don't hide behind another "just made up" username. Or are we to believe that this person just came to WHT for the first time and this is their first post they happen to make.

HIs argument for taking meta tags is weak too.

Well, we should wait and see what both Hosts have to say about this..

In your opinion, what exactly is an acceptable first post?
