    Thumbs up Heat wave

So, it's the end of Spring Break here for the local schools; and the weather decides to warm up. Drastically. Today most areas were in the 80s with some low 90s around. But tomorrow and Sunday it will feel like full blown summer. It will be in the upper 80s to mid 90s most areas tomorrow and Sunday, with isolated areas near 100. Oh the joys of southern California weather.

Been checking some of the data for today (Saturday) and it looks like downtown Los Angeles will be low to mid 90s both today and tomorrow, with today being just a hair hotter due to less of a seabreeze off of the ocean (thanks to slightly more offshore flow). Inland areas though, like Palm Springs and Riverside; will be very hot both days.

I wish it were that warm here, I'd love to be able to turn the heat off and open the windows.

    hmm...

Heat Wave.....that's a term rarely used in the UK vocabulary I'm afraid.

If you'd said it was pelting down with rain....was as windy as hell or so cold that your nads were about to fall off, then we might know what you were talking about.

We're so lucky over here....last time the sun decided to come out there was a total eclipse within 10 minutes.

    I just woke up.

My weather station thermometer says that it was 59 degrees at 8am, and that it's 67 now. 8 degrees of warming in 40 minutes. It's going to be damn hot today.

I'm in Irvine too and yesterday was miserable, today's not looking any better. It's not blazing hot, but it hasn't been this warm in a while. I guess I shouldn't complain though, the weather here is pleasant most of the time.

John Wayne Airport is already 85 as of 10am. Absolutely unreal. Especially for April. I don't have central a/c, only a portable unit; so I should be fine since the unit sits right next to my computer desk.

    Thumbs up

Sorry for double posting, but I wanted to give an update:

As of 2:00PM, it is 95 degrees here. Does not feel like April at all.

Yuck! I'm in Northern California and it's pushing 90 right now too. My niece's 1st birthday party was today - at a park - and I played with my nephew on the playground for like 45 minutes. It was so freaking hot! Oh, the energy of a 4-year old.

Hopefully it will start to cool down soon since it's getting to be evening. I'm just dreading the REAL summer. I spent the first half of last summer here in California and the last half in Washington - holy crap what a difference! I want to go back to Washington!!

And last year while in California my A/C was broken the whole time because my apartment wouldn't fix it since they knew we were leaving. How wonderful it was to sit on the couch and watch TV while drenched in sweat from the 100+ degree heat.

It looks like the high here today was 96, definitely more than I was expecting. First time we've run the air conditioner in about 6 months... glad it still works!

Gee I'm getting hot just thinking about the forthcoming UK summer, not the temperature, but the memories of 'Cheese Clothe & N*pple weather of the 70's

Ended up with a high of 96.6F here today, just a smidge warmer than yesterday. The high in my area was 102 in Anaheim and 100 in Santa Ana (both in Fahrenheit).

Last April was the hottest April on record for the UK, yet this year I was out kayaking yesterday in wind, rain and snow. UK weather is crazy!
