Um, well unless you need 16 class c's and can justify the usage of 16 then arin will not give you IP's.
Quite frankly SEO is bull****, you really need to get out of that myth. Having or not having an IP does not in any way increase or decrease your listing stature in the search engine. If you want to be #1 then goto overture.com and buy advertising.
DanielP, thanks for responce, but SEO is definitely not a bull****, it may be in few years but at present it's not
the effect of interlinking from different IPs on se positioning is arguable but from my expirience it makes sense to host virtual servers linking to each other on separate IPs... well it's a long conversation and it's definitely off-topic
why so angry? if you don't want to have more customers then do nothing to be found on the web, this is always your personal choice
but if you want to be consistent you should delete the META NAME="Keywords tag from your home page, which is kind of seo thing too (one that doesn't work anymore though)
well really didn't want to flame, just wanted people to share their experience on obtaining additional IPs since I've never done this before and being a newbie i couldn't understand much from what i found on arin's web-site
not exactly, in this case it's more like forming "theme society", you are right about SEs getting smarter which is a good thing in general but unfortunately sometimes they become just paranoid
and yes I agree that even multiple IPs would not protect you from being banned by some SEs if you are creating bulk doorway pages
some retail businesses sell things to "strangers who find them in a search engine", didn't you know that? ... don't really know where you personally are getting your customers from and don't really care... just your statement makes me wonder why you "do a lot to be found on the web" if the people who "find you on the web" don't concern you... the whole process sounds like a waist of time for both you and "the strangers" then
btw whatever reason you have to "do a lot to be found" some things on your site were done not well enough, I'd at least put a propper title tags on the pages other than the home-page
doesn't look like you have an idea of what you are talking about though, imho if you know nothing about some things, just try not to judge or discuss them
anyway don't know if the forum is moderated but this is definitely not a place not discuss the ethics of certain seo strategies, there are better place for that like marketpositiontalk.com or webmasterworld.com for example, pure flame is not appreciated there though
read it as you want to, the bottom line is your wanting to know how to defaud the system to get IP's you don't need and it ain't right. You just seem to like to cloud the issue, but that must just be your tatic
[email protected], if you're willing to lie to the search engines why don't you just lie to ARIN about your reasons? I don't see the difference.
