Small Job: $$$ locate and install a php script
Hi,
I am looking for the script used on this site. I want to get it installed on another site on my server. $10 for the person who can successfully do this for me.

Before anyone else hastily responds to this post, please read the whole thing first.
I don't even know what the script is, it maybe isn't even open source. I'm asking FIRST to identify the script, and then install.
If someone knows a script that can replicate the functionality and look and feel of this one, that may work for me too. Please lmk.

Although I haven't got time to have a dig around myself have you checked the likes of http://www.hotscripts.com and http://php.resourceindex.com?
If you have already, I'm sorry for wasting your time and good luck with the searchChief brew-maker at several hosting brands since 2002.

Yea, I went through hotscripts. There's sooooo many php content management systems listed that I spend a couple hours there looking through them and getting my mind in a great sense of numbness. Just hoping someone will know off the top of their head what this is or something very nearly like it. I would also consider anyone who can custom a similar script or even custom the whole script, but couldn't spend too much $$$ on it.
offers are welcome.

Yes I know what you mean but more often than not, it's worth sifting through as there is usually something which suits your needs well or can be modified to suit fairly easily.
By looking on that site, I would think that it's a custom script and it won't be too difficult to write a similar script. If I was to quote for it, I would probably quote approx $80-100.
When doing quotes though, I get all requirements in as much detail as possible and write a detailed quote so it could be greater or less than the amount above.
If you decide to go down this route, please email me and I'll be happy to prepare a proper quote.

I too am interested in offering my programming services to you Peter. I have an open schedule for the rest of today and would be willing to custom build this script for you for ~ $50 USD.
If you would like to talk, send me a Private Message via the forums, and we can go from there.
Thanks for your time,

On a side note, just because something is open source doesn't mean it is free of cost.

Just some more information for everyone who's contacting me via various methods...
I hadn't really considered hiring someone to do the whole site from scratch, was really hoping someone would be able to identify this script or one that's close enough to it. However, I've had numerous offers to do this from scratch for $50 or a bit more.
I'd just want it to look like the site I referenced without being so identicle that it would be copyright infringement. Mostly, that can be avoided by the code being different. But there are some features I'd change, like I'd get rid of the index alphabet, for example. Maybe move the category list up, and move the home, contact, and search links to the top (under the 468x60 banner). Just little changes like that.
Features on the existing site:
Database
Contents, category and index listing on left.
Banner rotation on top and right blocks.
Rating system for all items in database.
Membership functions
mailing list
search database function
I have an example of the admin function here:

If you contact me, I will not want to restate all of this again. I will ask to see some of the work you've done before. I don't mind if you're in the USA or another country, but will pay you in US funds. I've had a couple dozen contacts on this already, I didn't know the competition was so fierce on this type of work.
Thanks,Last edited by petertdavis; 08-17-2002 at 09:26 PM.

I think I found 2 scripts near to what you need
1- http://www.scriptsjoint.com/cook2.htm and here is the demo http://www.scriptsjoint.com/cookbook2/index.php
2- http://www.cyberbrau.org/ you can download it from here http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/13307.html
The second one is more like what you want.

Thank you everyone for the overwhelming response (lots of pm, email, and im response too). I've hired someone for the job. I will repost if it doesn't work out, but I expect it will.
