I have often seen the entry mailnull in the mail logs of exim.
I don't understand it. What is meant by mailnull ? where can i get information about it ?
mailnull is the exim user
[root@server ~]# exim -bP exim_user
exim_user = mailnull
Supportlobby.com - Specialist in Windows/Linux Server Management
Spiralbean.com - Custom Software Development
Email: exec @ supportlobby.com | Skype: exec_activelobby
It is set as mailnull as it is a non-privileged user, ie it does not have root privileges. Its done as a security measure. If you see a lot of processes with user mailnull, change the catchall account of accounts to :fail:
