Celeron 1.2, 512 MB Ram, 40 GB IDE with Windows 2000 server

Hi guys, I would like to request some experience feedbacks from those who have a server with Celeron 1.2, 512 MB ram, 40 GB IDE and loaded with Windows 2000 server. I would like to know how the server would be performing? Is it advisable to use Celeron on Windows server?

    Thank you for all feedback.

We have several customers who use Celeron processors with not problems at all. What are you doing with the server?

    Hmm..

You should be ok for regular hosting related tasks. But if you're going to use it for any processor intensive apps like Commerce Server, Jrun, MS SQL, .NET, you might see a better performance with P3s.

I've definately seen a difference from my development workstation which is a P3 1.0 ghz and the development server which is a Celeron 1.2 ghz.
Even though the Celeron has more "power" and memory, ASP.NET recompile/restart start much faster on the P3.

Thanks for the feedback. I am just planning to use it for normal hosting, but I will try my best to get a p3 or p4.
