    Dedicated mail server

    Hi!

Can you recommend any reasonable priced dedicated mail server provider?

We need mail server for legitimate email marketing. We would like to just point mail.our-domain.com to that server and then use it for mass mailing.

We need dedicated IP with reverse lookup. Throughput of about 25.000 sent emails per hour would be ok for start.

    Regards,

Have you already taken a look in the hosting offers section?
And does location matter for you, USA or Europe?

For 25.000 mails per hour I would look for a decent system with good cpu and enough memory to process the mails.

I did a search on Google for dedicated mail server hosting, but more or less I get a lot of regular dedicated server hosting links.

Also, we would like to have system set-up and managed for a fixed monthly fee. Do you offer such service in Europe?

any host that sells dedicated servers can get you a dedicated mail server. Most control panels come with a mail client you can use.

You're better off with a managed mail service with that kind of volume. Theres almost no way you can safely mail 25,000+ an hour without getting blacklisted by RBL's, or tarpitted by Yahoo / Road Runner etc.

Mail services may cost alot, but if your mailing this much, it's probably your best solution if you want decent deliverability.

You really need to look into the SPAM aspect or else your server might be blacklisted and shut in weeks...

Mass mailing = SPAM! ;P just kidding.

Well, I guess it's better and cheaper to get a dedicated server and set it up yourself for the mass mailing. It's definitely more worthwhile.

what is "legitimate" about sending 25,000 mails EVERY HOUR?

Anyways, not a lot of hosts offer dedicated servers with such high volume of emails and if they do, you are going to pay a premium. Some cheap dedicated servers hosts might do it.

I would recommend not using any control panel or anything like that. In fact, the only 2 services that should be running are mail and ssh; no http, dns, ftp, and others.

Hmmm - i'm siding with Anantha on this one. What legitimate service will send 25k emails every hour?

Although, if it is legitimate - i'd be very interesting in seeing what actually generates this!

honestly like he might not mean every hour but he might have mails that need to be timely.

    it isn't unheard of.
