What does this mean?
I have a router. Why my friends can not access my files?
If you have a router, you need to config the router to redirect outside requests from the router to your computer. And you need to tell them the internet IP of the router.
Please follow these steps: (Suppose that WFS Pro runs on port 80)
Step 1. Please config your router, redirect outside requests from port 80 of the router to port 80 of your computer.
Step 2. Visit http://www.cmyip.com to find your internet IP address.
Step 3. Suppose that your local IP is 192.168.0.3 and the internet IP of your router is 142.59.46.117. Please tell http://192.168.0.3 to the LAN user and tell http://142.59.46.117 to the internet user.
English might be my second launguage but i am not bad at english. I score honors haha
Can someone explain me whats step 3?
by the way this is a software thing in which you select a folder and you give it to whoever you would like to download file from your computer and then they can just click links and download whatever is in my computer's folder.
I have done step 1 and step 2!
You can try why this thing doesnt work here
http://192.168.1.101/
Its supposed to work for everybody
http://192.168.1.101/%5BCricDownload...D+MCG+2007.mp4
works for some people [files inside my selected thing]
and folder links dont work for anybody!

Don't give out 192.168.0.1 to anyone. It's your "internal" address, and only people on your local network can use it. If you forwarded the proper ports, you need to give people your "external" or "public" IP address. You can find it by going here: http://www.whatismyip.com/

This is what the "help" shows
If your IP address is 192.168.x.x, 10.0.x.x or 127.x.x.x, it is a local IP address of your computer and can not be accessed from the internet. If your computer is on a local area network (the LAN in the school, in the office or at home), you may use http://192.168.xxx.xxx to share files with others on the same local area network. But please don't tell http://192.168.xxx.xxx to your friends when they are on the internet.
If your computer connects to the internet via a router, to share files with others on the internet, you should use the internet IP of the router, do not use the local IP of your computer. And you need to config the router to redirect outside requests from the router to your computer.
To learn how to config the router, please click here.
To check the internet IP of the router, please visit http://www.wfshome.com/myip.php or select 'Check my Internet IP address...' on the main window of WWW File Share.
Suppose that the local IP of your computer is 192.168.0.3, the internet IP of your router is 142.59.46.117, the port number is 85, then the URL of your computer is http://192.168.0.3:85 or http://142.59.46.117:85. Please tell http://192.168.0.3:85 to the LAN user and tell http://142.59.46.117:85 to the internet user.
My IP is 68.149.182.37
My Router Admin Cp thingi is http://192.168.1.1
And http://192.168.1.101/ is from where my website works
My Port number is 80!
Can someone tell me how i can get it to work!

In order for people to download from your home you will need to setup a home server and go through all these other protocols. I would recommend just getting a shared host instead because if your worried about your upload speed being slow then your wrong. When people download from your home their download speed is your upload speed. So either way, it'll be slow. The only good thing to shared is that only your upload will be slow but their download will be fast.

If your computer address is 192.168.1.80 then yes, if it is 192.168.1.101 then no. You would also need to be running IIS or Apache before you can actually serve anything on Port 80.

Yes, you don't need to be uploading BUT the speeds people download will be the same as your upload speed. For example, your upload speed is 40kb/s. That is the speed people will be downloading at if you host your files at home. You will also need to setup Apache for your downloading server to work properly.

koolfire, apache is probably the best way to go but there are free bundled LAMP type downloads out there that are ported to windows. As such it'd be best to go that route I'd say (if you're looking for an out of the box solution, since in case you need to run anything php having it all bundled will work for you easily then).
A quick google revealed http://www.wampserver.com/en/download.php Haven't tried it myself however might be a starting point to try and see how well it works for ya.
