    File server requirement

    Hello everyone

We are looking for some help about file hosting, every response would be appreciated.

We have a requirement of a file server that has at least 10tb secure disk space such as raid 1+0.

We tried solutions with voxel but they have failed to prove the desired results since the solution provided to us was a nfs with samba mount in windows. The network transfer speed is too low to sustain atleast 100Mbps file transfers.

he basic thing we need is:

10TB+ Files----->mounted in multiple servers----> http files served.

    Thanks
    Thanks,
    Taran

You should check the dedicated hosting offers forum. Or you can check out the dedicated 1Gbit lines that FDCservers and Pooled.net have.

Did I forget to explain my problem?

It is a disk storage problem not a bandwidth problem.
    Thanks,

Use SCCI 15K disks, but that could cost a bomb to hit 10TB.
Do you really need raid1+0? If not, raid5 is much faster imo.

You need a box of blades hitting a SAN or iSCSI target. Pretty high dollar sandbox... What are you playing with?

    Good luck,

you need a custom quote or server ..

You should post your specific needs and probably you will get replies from dedicated server providers, Or just take a look around and ask a quotation.

    Hi,

Do you really want 100Mbs (megabits) or 100MB/s (megabytes)?

Also, what sort of files are you serving - lots of small files or big files?

It's possible to push over 100MB/s (if that's what you meant) over NFS/Samba but, as people have said, you're gonna be spending $$$ :-)
