PC-Core.net worst host.
Just signed up with PC-Core net yesterday.
Everything was smooth, untill I found out just now that my website is down: finchmall.com
This website is also down.. all because I was generous of giving smaller companies a chance..

Not all small web hosting companies are bad. How long have they been down? Have you tried to contact them in anyway? I would give them a chance first before saying they're a bad host.
Edit: Your website also seems to be working for me as well.Rageki Web Hosting Solutions - Canada & United States Web Hosting

Your website is coming up for me...
Listed on your main page...
"Welcome to Finch Mall. Your number #1 source for electronics and gadgets.
We sell various products at extremely low prices, also shipping world-wide for absolutely free."
Have you also tried looking through a proxy as your IP may be blocked? You can try using iptools.com or siteuptime.com

All webhosts need a chance. If it happens again I would look elsewhere though. Server hardware is bound to fail at some point.
I'm currently hosting with: hostgator

Make sure you try using a proxy such as siteuptime.com to see if maybe your IP is blocked. If you don't mind me asking what type of account do you have with them? If your using a dedicated server you may have blocked yourself out from repeat failed attempts to access the server if they installed a Brute Force Detection. If its a shared or reseller account you may need to contact them.

I believe it could be a DNS issue. Your host probably setup the DNS address incorrectly. I would tell them about this or I would move to another host.

I just did a check with siteuptime, and the result says: "failed". tried different proxy sites, with no success.
I have a reseller account with them with about 3 domains hosted.
I can't even access their homepage (pc-core.net).
I cannt afford to have my website down like this right now.
A second day, then it's down.

I also just tried siteuptime.com and got a failed error. It looks like maybe an issue with apache might of crashed.

This just sucks.
I am paying them $23 monthly for a website that uses about 1gb of space, and about 5gb of bandwidth a month.
All I am looking for is uptime, and fast speeds. Why is this so hard? This is already my third host.

I'd recommend you switch hosts.
I personally recommend HostGator for cheapness, good technical support, and VERY good uptime.
P.S. Demand a refund before you leave.

Maker177 do you have any experience with Hostgator?
I'm sorry lifebot and hopefully they'll get it fixed soon. Do they offer an offsite support site, so that way you can contact them?

It's really a pain to move cpanel accounts again, and propgating the domains takes a lot of time.
Downtime really affects for someone me like who is running e-commerce.
Uptime is really what I'm looking for. Can anyone recommend me a host other then hostgator?Last edited by lifebot; 03-28-2008 at 11:13 PM. Reason: typo

They had a live chat support which really made them trust their company. They helped me to move accounts from my previous host, all smoothly.
And then the next day, which is supposed to be today, my website is down with no sort of notice in advance or anything. This just sucks.

Yes, propagating is never fun but the migration of your account should not really be an issue if its between two cpanel servers. Your migration should take no more than an hour to do.

I'm also having trouble access their main website as well. I've done a whois lookup on their company and this is what I got
Administrative Contact:
Hosting, PC Core admin@pc-core.net
224 Potlatch St
Parksville, British Columbia V9P1K3
Canada
2509479655
Maybe you should try giving them a call and see what happens?
If you already have backups saved then migrating to another server shouldn't be much of an issue.Rageki Web Hosting Solutions - Canada & United States Web Hosting

I really don't want to be dialing numbers for a such cause.
I just hope that they come back online, so I wont lose my website.
This would be my last time putting trust on a company that is unheard of.

You're close. It looks more like the DNS zone for the domain is hosed as well as their nameservers acting funny. (duplicate zones for their domain and such.)
I'm sorry, but the instant a host has an issue you shouldn't run, as you'll be running until you make a loop back to hosts you ran from.
Every host, no matter how good, will have an issue at one point in the company's life time -- and any company that says otherwise is lying. So, instead of saying "RUN" without even having experience with host, unless you have had, then you shouldn't recommend this. If you do have experience with this host, do tell.
Lifebot, have you been successful in contacting them?-Steven | Cooini, LLC
