    PC-Core.net worst host.

Just signed up with PC-Core net yesterday.

Everything was smooth, untill I found out just now that my website is down: finchmall.com

This website is also down.. all because I was generous of giving smaller companies a chance..

Not all small web hosting companies are bad. How long have they been down? Have you tried to contact them in anyway? I would give them a chance first before saying they're a bad host.

Edit: Your website also seems to be working for me as well.

Your website is coming up for me...

    Listed on your main page...
"Welcome to Finch Mall. Your number #1 source for electronics and gadgets.
We sell various products at extremely low prices, also shipping world-wide for absolutely free."

Have you also tried looking through a proxy as your IP may be blocked? You can try using iptools.com or siteuptime.com

All webhosts need a chance. If it happens again I would look elsewhere though. Server hardware is bound to fail at some point.
    I'm currently hosting with: hostgator

Make sure you try using a proxy such as siteuptime.com to see if maybe your IP is blocked. If you don't mind me asking what type of account do you have with them? If your using a dedicated server you may have blocked yourself out from repeat failed attempts to access the server if they installed a Brute Force Detection. If its a shared or reseller account you may need to contact them.

I believe it could be a DNS issue. Your host probably setup the DNS address incorrectly. I would tell them about this or I would move to another host.

I just did a check with siteuptime, and the result says: "failed". tried different proxy sites, with no success.

I have a reseller account with them with about 3 domains hosted.

    I can't even access their homepage (pc-core.net).

I cannt afford to have my website down like this right now.

A second day, then it's down.

I also just tried siteuptime.com and got a failed error. It looks like maybe an issue with apache might of crashed.

    This just sucks.

I am paying them $23 monthly for a website that uses about 1gb of space, and about 5gb of bandwidth a month.

All I am looking for is uptime, and fast speeds. Why is this so hard? This is already my third host.

  13. #13
    I'd recommend you switch hosts.

I personally recommend HostGator for cheapness, good technical support, and VERY good uptime.

P.S. Demand a refund before you leave.

Maker177 do you have any experience with Hostgator?

I'm sorry lifebot and hopefully they'll get it fixed soon. Do they offer an offsite support site, so that way you can contact them?

It's really a pain to move cpanel accounts again, and propgating the domains takes a lot of time.

Downtime really affects for someone me like who is running e-commerce.

Uptime is really what I'm looking for. Can anyone recommend me a host other then hostgator?

They had a live chat support which really made them trust their company. They helped me to move accounts from my previous host, all smoothly.

And then the next day, which is supposed to be today, my website is down with no sort of notice in advance or anything. This just sucks.

Yes, propagating is never fun but the migration of your account should not really be an issue if its between two cpanel servers. Your migration should take no more than an hour to do.

I'm also having trouble access their main website as well. I've done a whois lookup on their company and this is what I got

    Administrative Contact:
    Hosting, PC Core [email protected]
    224 Potlatch St
    Parksville, British Columbia V9P1K3
    Canada
    2509479655

Maybe you should try giving them a call and see what happens?

If you already have backups saved then migrating to another server shouldn't be much of an issue.

I really don't want to be dialing numbers for a such cause.
I just hope that they come back online, so I wont lose my website.
This would be my last time putting trust on a company that is unheard of.

From the sounds of it, I doubt the host will refund him. Did you order your hosting through paypal? If so you can file a dispute and get your money back.

You're close. It looks more like the DNS zone for the domain is hosed as well as their nameservers acting funny. (duplicate zones for their domain and such.)

I'm sorry, but the instant a host has an issue you shouldn't run, as you'll be running until you make a loop back to hosts you ran from.

Every host, no matter how good, will have an issue at one point in the company's life time -- and any company that says otherwise is lying. So, instead of saying "RUN" without even having experience with host, unless you have had, then you shouldn't recommend this. If you do have experience with this host, do tell.

Lifebot, have you been successful in contacting them?

    I can recommend Cyberwurx.com

I was with them for many years before I got a dedicated server.

Support ALWAYS responded to me within 5 mins max. I have never experienced faster support ever.

But they are not the cheapest

If uptime is what you are looking for then honestly you wont go far wrong with Host Gator

Well, depending on lifebot's sending mail server, they just might bounce soon as pc-core.net's MX records are messed up. So, if those mail server's DNS resolvers have updated, they'll give up shortly with a bounce.

Didn't apply to me as I have a dedi with them (no problems either) but I got an email about a server change for server 1, maybe this affects you and for some reason you didn't get the email?
We will be migrating your account to another server shortly.
If you are using custom private nameservers, you will need to update them to the new server IP addresses at your registrar.

The new IPs will be as follows:

    Nameserver1: 66.197.211.197

    Nameserver2: 66.197.211.198

Please note that DNS propagation can take 24-48 hours.

No I am sending the e-mails through my Gmail account. No response.

For the above post, this is what I got from them:

I just want to clarify that if you are not on Server 1, or you are not a Shared or Reseller Client, you can disregard the previous email as it will not affect you.

    Regards,

    PC Core Hosting

    I can understand this
I just want to clarify that if you are not on Server 1

    What I cannot understand is
you are not a Shared or Reseller Client,

I guess lifebot you have a webhosting / reseller account with them, so that makes you a Shared or Reseller Client, isn't it?

    Hello,

I am occupied with the transfers at the moment, but cPanels transfer tool is spitting out errors all over the place and every error we fix another pops up. We did give plenty of notice and I even mentioned to the client that we would be migrating them shortly when we transfered his accounts to the server. We would have put him directly on the new machine however it was not fully provisioned for use yet.

We will credit for the issues they are having and we are aware that our site is down as we are moving it around as well. As I said we put announcements out by email, on the forums, and in the Billing System. This was all planned however things don't always go the way you want them to.

I haven't read the thread as I am still working on the issues, and will address other issues and concerns as soon as I can.

It wouldn't have actually taken more than 2 hours, many of the accounts were 2-3 GB and MD5's sometimes weren't matching etc. After the 9th account it just started spitting errors. We resolved 3 different issues so far, and are on the fourth and hoping that others don't come up. The other issues we have been working on is the corrupted databases as it uses the same package system as backups. I have had good luck so far that most that are transfered havn't had database issues, however if there is, we will transfer them seperately.

We will back online shortly and emails should go through normally and we will keep you updated on this.

Feel free to PM me if you need anything else until the site is back online.

Don't worry my post was no way an attack towards you or your ability to transfer accounts. The OP stated he/she did not want to transfer to another hosting provider again and I felt that he thought it would take a long time to do it.

No problem, wasn't meaning to sound too defensive.

    Thanks.
