I have a file named dos-1.2.13.4 (i changed the IP address in purpose) inside the log and inside the file there is a 4 digit number that is constantly changing. more

[root@myserver]# more dos-1.2.13.4
8726

What is 8726 ?

That would be the process ID (PID) of the Apache child that was spawned by the connection that was subsequently blocked by mod_evasive.
