    Need a *very* cheap VPS

    Hi,
I'd need a very cheap VPS, not more than $10/mo, better if less.
    I'd just need:
    128 Mb of RAM
    10 Gb of space
    >100 Gb/mo bandwidth
    Debian

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Luca

I would recommend rapidvps.com. I have used them several times. Excellent control panel and instant reinstalls.

I recommend Web Wide Hosting. I have yet to write a review, but I've had a great experience with their VBS packages. It's a regular OpenVZ VPS but with your CPU and RAM resources limited.

I've been with them about a month, which is why I haven't written my review yet, but no unscheduled downtime (I measure every 5 minutes from an external box), quick replies to tickets, and better performance out of a 100Mhz/100MB VPS than I had expected.

Don't expect to run some heavy Drupal, Mysql, or Wordpress sites, but for a low traffic dynamic site with lighttpd+php+webdav, it works great. I use it as an Rsync dump, webdav server, etc etc and I love it.

I would recommend Virpus Networks. You get 10 GB space, 200 GB bandwidth, 128 MB Dedicated RAM, 512 MB Burstable RAM and DirectAdmin all for $10/month. I have had no problems since I have been with them.

I don't see the $10 plan on Virpus Networks.

But you can try these guys at internetvps.com for $9.99 - 128mb, 5gb, 100gb bw. Support is fast and servers are very reliable. You can have your own VPS control panel and a Free LxAdmin Web Hosting Control just like Cpanel. I am using their $4.99 plan for my DNS server and it works pretty good.

The $10 plan is "hidden." You can't find it on the website, but it is available if you go to the order form.

Also check out VPSLink - they have some good low-end VPS plans, and a 10% off coupon in the VPS Offers forum.

Thank you all for your replies!
VPS111 ($4.90/mo) and VPS222 ($6.90/mo) from Web Wide Hosting look very interesting, especially thinking that Euro has a good changing rate (> $1.50).

If you have any other ideas, please, tell me.

    Thank you again,
    Luca

I've had a great experience so far with Web Wide Hosting.

I like the concept of restricting CPU and RAM and discounting the price.

My guess is the typical site, unless you've got some bloating script app or some hardcore dB web interface, doesn't need more 128/256MB ram and couple hundred Mhz of processing time.

Typically you want high disk space / high BW.

Could you reply with the url for this company please? I'm interested in looking at their plans but I'm not certain I'm finding the right company.

    Thanks,

Web-wide-hosting recently took over serverways.com and is continuing to offer their VBS/VPS packages.

Web Wide Hosting just took over serverways.com. WWH's front page has not been updated yet to include serverways' programs. If I recall correctly, WWH will open a new website soon to support the serverways' packages.

If you go to the link I provided, click "Order" and you'll see the packages.

Superbytes is actually a pretty decent host, the only problem (which led to the downtime) was that they chose Vagu as their host.Everything is much better now that they moved to BURST.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that (however they are now *really* cheap)

Thank you for your kind words Travis. The $10/mo plan will soon be listed on our website. We were technically running testing with that offering to see how it would work for us. We will be standardizing HyperVM/OpenVZ in the coming weeks, though even now the plan is available as you stated.

Just curious of that post, if they sold 8 VPS's which would max out the 4GB they say they have per node, they would only be bringing in ~80/month per node.

Looks like some major overselling going on with that company.
