Google result with sublinks. How is this done?

If you Google "rvsitebuilder", you will see www.rvsitebuilder.com as the first result, but you will also see a set of sublinks under the result. How is this achieved?

Google assigns sitelinks based on their algorithm determining if the site is an "authority" for that search phrase.. The only way to get them is to be the authority for that phrase..

Recently Google has relaxed the requirements slightly to allow people to gain sitelinks for thier own names, since, in theory, they should be the authority for their own name..

You can see this at http://www.google.com/search?q=image...006-34,GGGL:en or for any reasonably well developed site for it's own name..

Thanks for the info, Feydakin. I'm confused by your link, though. It just appears to be another example of a site with sublinks. Where in that link would I find more info as per Google?

And their sublink system isn't the best either... A lot of people have gribs about it. Its definitely nice to have though...

I see. But how does this get done? Is it something that Google just does on their own arbitrarily or does a site owner have any input in getting sublinks displayed?

Generating sitelinks is a automated process.

You need to have excellent internal linking + a little old domain.

Google also allows you to control what Sitelinks show up for your website through Google Webmaster Tools as well.

Thanks for the heads up there. Unfortunately, they don't allow you to add sitelinks, only remove ones they have generated.

Also, from our site, we see that
    (a) Sitelinks only show up when your site is the definitive result for a search term

    (b) Google uses the frequently externally-linked pages on your site to generate sitelinks [e.g. we have 3 products, and 1 of them does not show up as a sitelink because we have not got it linked externally from anywhere yet, although it is linked internally].
