Question Buying US hosting from UK

Ok, I'm looking for any advice or past experience about this

I am currently in UK and decided to create a website. After much though on which hosting website I should choose, I picked A2hosting. Then I realized, the currency aren't the same (silly me )

So now I am wondering, do any of you know how they will charge a england bank account? Will I be able to buy hosting from them in the first place? Will I run into any problems ?

Because of that problem I am thinking of choosing a UK hosting (I might not depending on your answers ). So I am also wondering, is UK better then US from my stand point? Will I run into less problems ? Is there better/cheaper deals then US? If you can tell me any good ones from UK I will be happy .

Anyway, all help appreciated, thanks !

Were are your targeted viewers? if it is worldwide then it may not matter. If it is local I would think the UK based would be a better option. As far as currency I have no idea. There are a lot of hosts that sell both US and UK hosting so I doubt it would be an issue.

You may be charged a small currency exchange fee. But I couldn't tell you how much.

If you're paying by credit card or paypal, it'll just get converted to $. However doing a bank transfer might cost you.

It looks like Paypal is the prefered method of payment with that host, so if your not registered, then get yourself over there!

Paypal with debit your account or card in local currency (GB£) and then convert it at whatever rate the exchange rate is running at that moment, to the desired currency. Fairly seemless, but given the current currency movement you'll have to allow for a variance in your monthly cost.

So basically I should use a Paypal account.

Are they actually reliable? I heard quite a lot of horror stories about accounts being deleted for no reason at all. Or maybe I should post this in another form

Anyway, I'm still unsure on which kind of hosting would be "better". I think my target audience would be mostly US.

In answer to point one, Paypal are fine. They have their problems, but you'll generally not have any issue with them unless you are recieiving funds via paypal.

Where you place your server is up to you. Ping times from the UK are fine for most websites, its only when you need super fast ping times (like with game servers) that it becomes a problem.

Having said that, putting your servers where your customers are is never a bad thing.
