I find it sad that a religious holiday has become a day of drinking and debauchery in the United States. I drank some yesterday, but decided not to act foolish and get stupid drunk.

I think it's good that a holiday which honors a mortal was secularized.

Yeah, honoring a guy who helped civilize Ireland by drinking and acting uncivilized is an excellent change. What? Does that make sense to you?

EDIT: And just for the record, I don't think very highly of Christianity. I do think rather highly of switching from an extremely violent and backwards society which happens to be pagan to a less violent and less backwards society which happens to be Christian is a good change.
