Question collocation in missisauga / etobicoke

Hi, I would like to get an idea or advise for collocation services here in Etobicoke or Mississauga area. I'm planing to use or small Mini-ITX Via Epia based system with one low profile HDD that would take about 1/4 space of U1 rack. The server purpouse would be for serving our online radio with stream, we do not use a lot of bandwidth nowadays, because we are just in the starting stage for this project. I currently use a VPS hosting from godaddy's services, and its time to move on dedicated server, proffered collocation in my area. Any here with an idea for a good price for this project ? I would really welcome anything. Thnx for your time

    Best Regards,

    Petrocelly

i meant by that that in size of U1 u can put 4 via epia mobos, they are really small, intended for car pc or MediaCenter PC's ... im not here to promote them, they are good for one or 2 things, but not as a real server. I have to start with something small, then i will see if its enough if not i replace it for a better mashine

I can't see any provider leasing you less than 1U of space, and I don't know how they would feel about you providing a chassis that they couldn't put on rails (or you didn't provide rails with).

With that being said, ServerTag might be able to accommodate you some how.

I understand that, I'm just trying to explain my need, maybe there's somebody who can help. I'm looking for the most cheapest way for this project. I already put a lot of finance and effort.

    You mentioned dedicated.

But, what you are talking about is really colo.

Unless you require specialised hardware, your best bet might be to go dedicated as your next move.

    The difference?

In hosting terms, dedicated means that you get full use of a server that is owned by and provided by your hosting company. This is usually cheaper than colocation, where you own the hardware and your hosting provider supplies the rackspace, power, cooling. Network is generally on top of that.

can you recomend any dedicated server company that would offer a service for about 30$ ?

$30 is really cheap, though it can be done, but you won't get great hardware.

The BEST ~$30 dedicated server (in my opinion) is CoreNetwork's $25 server, aslong as you can pay the $70 setup fee, you are good to go.
