FTP connection as Windows network drive

    Greetings,

I'm trying to find a way to establish a lettered network drive on Windows by mapping a given remote directory path over FTP. My plan is to come up with a script that I can place onto a USB flash drive and can run from anywhere, giving me instant access to the disk on my Web server.

I've seen and played with NetDrive which I'm sure is super awesome but I can't use anything that will run as a service or have to be installed, dropping .dll files every-which-where.

Can someone point me in the direction for something like this? At this point, it doesn't really matter which language it might be written in.

    Thank you,
    Bill

Well mapping a drive is simple. I believe you can do it with a simple cmd file. I would be more then happy to help you with it, you will just have to wait until I am out of work.

    Hi Cody,

If you could get a script to map a remote directory over FTP to a local drive, that would be fantastic and I'd greatly appreciate it!

If you don't mind paying a bit, webdrive works really really well!

This is inaccurate, and only assumes his sever would be Windows based. By default Xp can map FTP network drives without anything special installed.

As to the OP, I am sorry I didnt get in touch with you sooner, something came up, but I will be on a bit later tonight and I will whip something up for you.
