Would this server be ok whilst i start out in the hosting industry?

CPU: P4 2.8 GHZ
RAM: 2GB
DiskDrive: 500 GB
Bandwdith 1500GB
port speed: 100mbps

Kind of a general question. In a nutshell yes but what will you be doing with it? Shared, VPS? What OS will you be running?

The better question would be how many clients can you host on it and will you be able to turn a profit?

I feel your pain. I have a quad Xeon sitting next to me with 12 gigs of ram and Raid. But I have not even filled my VPS at this point and hosting is more of a hobby than a business to me therefore I don't really need it.

That being said I am trying to figure out what to use it for.

Yeah same here just whilst i start out hosting will be a hobby for me oneday i hope into turns into a full blown business
