Question

Anyone Use Manage My Box .com ?

Has anyone used managemybox.com?

If so, what do you think of their service/reliability. I see they have neither a live support or phone number or maybe I missed it, so what do you think of their response time and support?

Also, those who have heard things are welcome to post too even if you haven't used their service.

Thanks

I've been with MMB for a little over a year now. So far I'm very happy. There are cheaper servers on the market, but MMB's price is still very reasonable, and the box and the network have been solid. I do look around from time to time for other hosts, but it always comes down to - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

MMB support is competent. Most of my issues are minor, so even though they haven't always been addressed quickly, for these problems it really didn't matter (and I usually opened the tickets with a lower priority). The few serious issues that I did have (which were mostly of my own making) were handled promptly and professionaly. This in spite of the fact that the main problem I had was related to my scripts, and they still worked with me and bailed me out.

All in all, I'm very happy with them. This doesn't mean I wouldn't switch to another company, but it certainly won't be easy to convince me to switch as long as my box just keeps humming along nicely without me having to worry about it.

My only problem is that I would prefer a box on the East Coast since many of my users are in Israel and Europe, in addition to the U.S. Having the box on the West Coast introduces a little extra latency that I would love to be able to reduce. But, as I said, the box works and works well. No compelling reason to switch at this point.

I hope this helps. If there's anything else you'd like to know, just ask and I'll give it a shot.

what type of server do you have with them? And what was the average wait time on your tickets opened with them?

So your saying too that they do not have many backend network downtime on their end, meaning, downtime due to something they did or weather condenseions etc? If they did, how often was it?

I have a P4 2.8GHz box with 1 GB RAM, Centos, and cPanel.

As far as wait time on tickets, I can't say exactly since I don't really pay close attention. All that I can say is that on the important tickets, response was quick and the problem taken care of promptly. On low priority tickets, the response time sometimes was a few hours. (For those who feel this is unacceptable, then it seems that the answer is to just open a ticket with a higher priority.)

As I recall, there were one or two outages due to maintenance - maybe 15 minutes or so. I barely notice. I am monitoring my box with a third party monitor and except for those minor downtimes, I never receive outage notices.

From Israel I see widely varying speeds. This has much to due with my local ISP, since there are times that I can get about 200Kbps, and other times 40 Kbps. The lower speeds always happen during the peak hours in the evening here in Israel. I also see a proportional slowdown in speed tests from other providers as well.

I have bought a AMD 2800 with 2G from them this monlth.
I am happy in using it with their free Directadmin control panel
Although they cannot solve some problem in Directadmin, their support give me response within 24 hrs.
