    Geekrack.net LIES TO ITS CUSTOMERS!

    Hello Everyone!

It has came to my attention AGAIN that geekrack servers are down. This time, I caught it JUST as they were going down. I was thinking more about this when it happened the other day (http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/s...2204549&page=3) and on their site it says 100%, as shown in a picture below. This is totally lying to customers, as their servers were JUST DOWN the other day. Well, as soon as I was done taking a screen shot of this, I clicked on the 100% uptime link, and then tried going back to geekrack.net, and IT HAPPENED AGAIN! Their servers are DOWN AGAIN! Geekrack is VERY unstable! They need to either pay someone to manage their servers for them or they need to get lost!

That image in the bottom seems to be just a static image. Not an image thats powered by a uptime evaluation system. They just put it their to make themselves look better, many hosts do this.

But back to the main point, They are lying to their customers! They do not have 100% uptime like they claim

Are you a customer of Geekrack? What is your domain name with them?

Posting allegations about their uptime when there is a chance it could be your own connection is not very ethical. And if you are a webhost (read: competitor) and not a client it is even more unethical.

I am a client with geekrack. I have a dedicated server with them and the server does not have a domain but it's servername is host100.xplhost.com. My server has not been affected, but their server is down, making it pretty darn hard to get any support... This is also not a allegation, it is a fact. They have admitted that they have been attacked, causing their server to go down.

EDIT: https://geekrackportal.net/ is down as of 11:08 PM [EST] when I just checked it. This means NO SUPPORT!

Their main site and portal now seem fine for me. Although their uptime counter still says 100%..
Probably because their uptime monitor is hosted on the same server as their main site, so when their site is down, so is their monitor... Pretty stupid way to set that up!

True - but they shouldn't be displaying 100% uptime if its not true.

@magnuson56 Is/was your server down due to the DDOS that the Geekrack rep. talked about?

You make all these threads about geekrack, complaining about their service.. so why not just pack your bags and leave them? You spend more time talking about it than actually thinking how it's affecting your business.

You've got a point there. If there is no long-term contract, it is time to move on...
