I Seek Plesk 5, Take Me To Your Leader

Can someone tell me what Plesk 5 will cost for the first Plesk server and what it will cost for every subsequent server? If you sell Plesk licenses, PM me a quote as I want to purchase it very soon.

Yeah, they are having some problems with the website. Just close your browser and reopen it usually works, but now all the time.

PSA went from 2.5-->5, interesting version jump. At least they got ahead of Ensim?

I can't find pricing info on their site without registering, am I missing something?

yeah you have to register, because you can download the software before you purchase it. Here is the direct link. Though when you register you don't have to put any important info in.

the price for psa5 is still the same as before though you'd have to fork out a little bit more for psa5 Master to control multiple servers. i read on their forums that the reason they released it as psa5 is to avoid conflicts with ensim3. so go figure...

I think they're playing the version number game with Ensim. Wonder when we'll see Ensim 2002 and PSA 2003 etc

Plesk Server Administrator (PSA) 5.0 Master automates the management of a 50-server infrastructure. 5.0 ----> 50
I think that is the answer to the jump in the version #.

    The cost of Plesk

    PSA v.5.0 Licenses Price:
    For 30 domains $199 USD
    For 300 domains $599 USD
    For Unlimited domains $799 USD

    PSA v.5.0 Master Upgrade Price:
For 10 Server Master Interface $199 USD
For 25 Server Master Interface $399 USD
For 50 Server Master Interface $599 USD

So in order to manage 50 servers with unlimited domain capabilities on each server, from what i gather....

You would have to purchase the Unlimited Domain license for $799.00 + the 50 Server Master Interface for $599.00. No doubt thats a savings over long term compared to monthly control panel prices... but i dont know of many that want to pay that kind of price when you could easily integrate other programs to manage multiple servers at a low monthly fee.

It would only be cost effective i think if you had 20-50 servers running...

In which case your probably making enough money already that the 799 + 599 would be pocket change.. but for start up companies this would be a bit much i would imagen.. Making Cpanel still the best offer i think, integrate it with phpmanager multiple server module and your set..

    Actually, I think you would spend (50 servers * $799 per server) + $599 = $40,549. Am I wrong about this?

No, I'm quite sure you're correct about this You need a license for each server.

And thats why I wont touch it 800$ for a license per box is to steep, even w/ a discount on multiple licenses.

How is it steep? $799 isn't bad compared to the average cpanel price per month $75x12 = $900 a year, or $1400 to own cpanel if I remember correctly

I have been sold a liscense that was allready sold to 4 other people. I have heard of others buying a liscense, then when they go to moveto a new provider, they get a call or email from Plesk saying that the liscense belongs to the old provider and that it is supoposed to stay at the old providers servers, and to take the problem up with the old provider.

frozen is quite right here, plesk run 2 seperate partner schemes, if you buy from a plesk reseller partner the licence is yours to take anywhere, if you get one from a plesk hosting partner then it has to stay in the hosting partners NOC - the idea is the hosting partner builds the licence cost into the monthly rental
