Fastest shared host for under $20? (1 mb of space, 5+tb of bandwidth)

My site only consists of about 100 kilobytes in static files (css, html, js) and about 100 kilobytes of images.

No server side scripting will be used. Less than 1 mb space, at least 5 TB of bandwidth

I need it to handle as many requests per second without any slowdown. Anyone care to recommend? Is dreamhost good? Hostgator?

    Thank you for the help!

5 TB or GB? I don't expect the static files to use that much bandwidth.

If you can find a place to get 5TB bandwidth (quality) for $20/mo, let me know!

With less then 1mb of space I can't really imagine your site using even 1TB of bandwidth, so i'm guessing you meant GB. Dreamhost and hostgator will give you a lot of space and bandwidth, and will generally be pretty reliable. But, if your looking for performance I would search elsewhere, especially with such low requirements.

Go read some articles on what bandwidth is.
Yo don't need 5TB of bandwidth.
You prolly dont even need 5GB of bandwidth.

    Go with a small host.

you mentioned fastest shared host? I assume you want your pages to load fast, right?

if that's the case, the host is not the only factor ... it depends on where the customer is located (what's his ISP). almost all the big companies or small companies with servers in big data centers have good connections. try and ping some websites and see what's the response time.

yea sorry i meant something more along the lines of 50gb+ bandwidth

most of my users are located in north america so a north american host would be suitable

well then, look around and pick one

although there are many of us that represent web hosts we are not allowed in this forum section to actually give you a link to the hosting package.

I don't think you will need that much bandwidth inktri. Between the two hosts you asked about I recommend hostgator over dreamhost.

Almost any web host can serve your small pages... have you found any companies yet? Maybe we can provide you with some insight.

dreamhost is good if you have a lot of cash upfront to cash in on their deal.

If you're serving only static files like .html, etc, lighttpd is the way to go. It's certainly quicker for static file sites.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any quality, fast host that will have 5GB transfer per month at $20.

That's still a lot of bandwidth for 1 mb of files. It seems to me like you aren't sure what your website is going to get.

Lol... Someone is bitter about hostgator. Some people like it and of course some people don't. Let the customer decide.

    Are you sure about that?

This thread seems plagued by typos.
