You're going to have to be a little bit more specific, as to what you're trying to accomplish. Open a port in a firewall? Run netcat to listen on a certain port? Run some application on another port?

I'm using it for a proxy, but in my VMWARE (hypervmware) controle, it says my port is down "connection refused", but other ones work such as port 80, 22, ect.

What OS does your server have? Any firewall installed on it?
