    files in /mail/new/

    Hi,

i am not sure if it is the right place to post it.

    i have a problem,

    i have a cpanel account,

recently, there are a lot of files in the folder /mail/new/,

they are named like 1203962585.H101727P9217.hostname.com ,

i remove them, and they auto create later,

    is it spam? or?

and how can i remove them auto ? or do not let them here anymore?

    thanks

This is a `Maildir'. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maildir for a more detailed explanation.

You've got something configured in pcanel somewhere to deliver mail there. You need to find out where that is and change it.

It's potentially spam, but potentially legitimate mail also. You need to find out where you've configured mail to be delivered in a Maildir format to /mail/new/

"mail/new" is the default delivery location for new mail using Maildir. Once that mail has been seen it will then be in "cur" in the same directory (usually), if it wasn't downloaded and removed.

Just configure the mail in the email client and download the mails. Uncheck the option "keep a copy in the server". It will be automatically deleted.

Your question is not clear. If you are not creating the mail id there will not be corresponding new folder.

You can set cpanel contact email at WHM --> Edit Setup --> Server contact email address.

i think the mails been sent to the /home/aaa/mail/usr may the mail be spam to,

i just want to ask how can i set the account aaa do not want to accept the spam mail,
