    VPS is slow once set up on server

    I set up a VPS on the server, and through http everything is very fast.

    Problem is, with hypervm/openvz installed, SSH to the VPS is extremely slow.

    I am trying to do a yum install, and it takes almost an hour to get through php installation, which usually takes less than a minute to do. It runs extremely fast on the main node.

    Are there any settings in the server or hyperVM/openVZ that will at least make this a little less time consuming?

    Thanks

    Don't think that's anything to do with HyperVM/OpenVZ - check your /etc/resolv.conf && /etc/hosts
