How much bandwidth do you need and what kind of server specs are you looking for?

nocsol.com has a cheap server for under $50 I think (Via CPU with 64M RAM + 200M bandwidth).

    Sharkman,

    rack4less?

You are going to choose a RaQ server? Be sure to study about it before. They are not suitable for dynamic sites.

Be sure you know the differences before you order then.

    sharkman,
I suggest that you look into a reseller account until you can up your budget to over 100/month at the BARE minimum.

In addition a host at this price can not be reliable and will not worth the effort it needs for administration.

I also suggest you to find a reseller account that matches your needs.

    hey,

    check out www.dncsi.com.

    Intel Pentium 4 1.6Ghz Processor
    256 MB Ram
    40 GB EIDE Hard Drive
    1 IP Address
    30 Gig Transfer
    'root' access
    Battery Back-up

all for $50 a month! can't complain. i'm with them right now, and i have no complaints at all. i had one issue where the machine mysteriously rebooted itself, but it came back online without any problems. turns out the machine wasn't (at the time) connected to any battery backup. all in all, an awesome host. i'm moving from these guys, only because i need more bandwidth. but they're top notch for the price.

Some people have weird business plans...

Realistically, for anything under ~$200 / month, unless you are RackShack and have huge purchasing power, you're going to be getting a "server" with the lowest priced components available, that are prone to failure, out of date, probably have been used for a few years too...

As the others said, look into a reseller plan or a VPS for that kind of money, or spend a little more and get a quality dedicated.
