Webresellers.net Windows Hosting

Webresellers has taken a bashing on wht but I don't see anything recent so I thought I would share my experience and see if anyone else has input on this company.

I signed up for a windows hosting account a couple of months ago and have been very happy with their service. Support has been fast and competent, no canned responses or 'what problem?' replies. Uptime has been good so far. They offer quite a decent package for cheap windows hosting.

The only negatives might be windows hosting issues more than hosting service issues.

1. Spam filtering is terrible.

2. They offer MSSQL and have an online interface. I forget who developed it but it's nothing like myphpadmin. Quite crippled actually but it will let you create tables. Again probably not the hosting company's fault. Even Microsoft's remote sql server tool has limited functionality.

3. FTP uploads are throttled but it's not a show stopper.

IMHO definately a contender for windows hosting. I've slowly converting my asp sites to php but until I get that done the sites seem to be safe at webresellers.net.

Anyone else hosting with them?

Mike

hi

antispam filtering is a must now days! your host really should invest in an enhanced antispam solution.

What MS SQL tool is it? a very good one (but expensive) is www.mylittleadmin.com (also www.mylittlebackup.com is great product).

spam is bad

Yes, the poor spam filtering has been the biggest concern.

The MSSQL manager is ASP Enterprise Manager. Very slow, few features.

I believe they are new to the windows hosting world. I must admit in the 2 months I've been using them their uptime and support are both good.

I have discovered there is a webreseller.net (apparently bad) and webresellers.net (not much info about them). It is so hard to find any real reviews on web hosts and almost every forum I search requires me to join. I don't mind joining a few but I'd prefer to be able to search the forum and see what's there before I join.

Anyway, my current testing method is to host my disposable domain with the potential hosting company, setup an uptime monitor and see how it goes. That domain gets alot of spam so it's a good test case. The unix/linux spam filtering seems to do well but I have another windows host that has great spam filtering. They just don't have an online control panel, everything is done via email. They are a small company, expensive but reliable.

Hi - Webresellers.net is my host. My site is GarrettW.net in case you want to check it out - I have a few uptime trackers you can check. However, mine is a linux server, not Windows.
