Hosting a VPS on your home PC

Hey guys, could you please point me in the right direction.

I am currently on a Vista x84 OS and am hoping to host a linux os on my own system and am told I need to set up a VPS so that I can start services.

I have never done this before and am a complete n00b but learn quickly

Please could you guys point me in the right direction?

    Many thanks in advance, Mikey.

I'm guessing you mean a testing VPS to muck around on.

    Take a look here: http://www.vmware.com/products/player/

I have used VMware before. It is a great piece of program to use for testing purposes. I would not recommend using this in a live environment.

For internal/testing use, give Microsoft's Virtual PC a try.

We've found it to be a great product.
