    Question No module uhci-hcd found for kernel 2.6.24.2 on CENTOS 5???

    Hi,
    I trying to compile new kernel on centos 5 and every time after "mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.24.2.img 2.6.24.2" I have error:

    No module uhci-hcd found for kernel 2.6.24.2, aborting.

    Somebody know how I can fix this??

    Thanks.

    Did you ever find a workaround or solution to this? I'm getting the same problem with CentOS 5.1 whenever I get to the mkinitrd stage.

    Hope you can help - thanks!

    no module uhci-hcd found

    i had the same problem with kernel 2.6.25

    set the uhci-hcd module from "y" to "m" in your /usr/src/linux-2.6.*/.config

    CONFIG_USB_UHCI_HCD=m

    make modules && make modules_install
    mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.*.img 2.6.*

    The .config file has CONFIG options if set as =y that means that thing is complied with kernel and =m means it will be compiled as module.

    Generally the kernels higher than 2.6.24 has setting like =y .As socom022 suggested change it to =m and rebuild.
