I have been using their hosting service for about six months. I recently find that their servers are getting unstable. My site becomes nearly not responding or can take up to several minutes to respond. I notice that when my site is down, their site or their ticket system is also down. It is definite not my ISP. It is getting more often lately. At the time I am writing to this forum (Feb 15, 08 9:15pm Pacific time), their ticket system is down as well as my site. Does any body notice this problem?

Well... i tried to access their site - at with no luck, it doesnt load...

they may have some small issue somewhere - but if its continous, i suggest talking with someone

Their web site is loading perfectly fine.

I have talked to their live chat support. He said my server was fine but it really doesn't seem normal on my side. The same problem happens with FireFox, Cuteftp, IE, Dreamweaver, etc. But I can surely access other websites. The guy agreed that their were having problems with their ticket system too. I really notice that when they have problem with their site, mine is also affected.

If you can't sure whether the problem is on the server side or your own side, use the http://www.watchmouse.com/en/checkit.php service, they will load your site from 10+ place all over the world.

Both our hostgator.com server as well as our ticket server has not had any downtime in the last few days. It sounds like you may have experienced some type of network issue.

The internet itself has been very unstable the last few weeks, and just a few days ago some of the major backbones were having issues causing many overseas customers to have problems.

Your server is down again (Feb 20 7:50am PST). It is the second time in 5 days. My internet connection is fine, at least I can report that in this forum. I don't know what the problem is but it is happening too often.

Their site loads fine from here.

Maybe it would be helpful if you provided a trace route when it's down. I have a funny feeling this has something to do with some bandwidth provider.

Hostgator uses ThePlanet for their data center and it would seem right now that the data center itself may be having connectivity issues.

I have at lease three servers experiencing issues as well.

Yes, there are strange issues with the Internet recently, as I'm from overseas. But don't know the actual cause.

I failed to access certain sites, while am able to access them via proxy. There are also DNS issues. I found DNS keeps switching back & fore between new/old IPs.

Have you talked to their live support? I did. But they didn't admit this is their problem and said it is the problem on my side that my location cannot connect to their server but the live support person could.

I am not a IT guy but if the problem keeps happening once a while that is really bad as I am running an online store, every minute is valuable.
