Something like that requires a custom theme. The branding editor nor creating plug-ins in that manner would be able to generate that functionality and keep it such that it integrates seamlessly into X3 (e.g. sections that can be dragged and their locations saved).

You would need to copy the contents of /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x3 to another directory within /usr/local/base/frontend/ (e.g. /usr/local/base/frontend/mytheme).

Note, by creating your own theme, your theme will not inherit any improvements that are made to the X3 theme. Additionally, if you merely edit the existing X3 theme, it is likely that your changes may be overwritten by future updates. Hence a custom theme is needed if you wish for that to integrate seamlessly into the interface as I described above.

If you do implement your own custom skin, remember to turn off automatic cPanel updates; automatic updates will automatically revert your changes to the template files

RVSkin has plans to come up with something that lets you easily create your own themes.

They call it "RVTheme". However its been a long time we didnt hear anything on it from them.

Thanks for your suggestion Shaw. I do like David said, copy x3 to different folders and rename it to another name.
