    Problem after Apache / PHP upgrade

    I upgraded Apache from WHM and after build was completed I got error

    Forbidden

    You don't have permission to access / on this server.
    Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    This error is on all webites..
    If its directory permission problem , how do I fix it for all sites

    You're right, it's a drectory permission error. If you chose to have CPanel do this, you need to go through and make sure everyone can read from /home/user/public_html . This happens when you tell Cpanel to change permissions on the directories.

    try on one account first:

    chmod 755 /home/<username>/public_html
    chmod 644 /home/<username>/public_html/*.html

    That error would be different. The error here is quite clear:
    You don't have permission to access / on this server.
    Either:

    A> the user used cpanel to recompile apache and it reset the permissions, which it does frequently

    or

    B> The user used Cpanel to recompile apache/php and told it to use suphp/phpsuexec.

    An error in htaccess would be worded completely differently.

    I'm currently rebuilding Apache
    I'll try to chmod the directory and see if it works
    BTW if its directory permission problem , I'll have to do it manually for all 600 accounts?
