User submitted content, posts,wordpress?

Hello,

I currently use wordpress, but I am looking for something else. I want a blog but also have a user submitted content page, or ALL user-submitted content page. Any suggestions? I was thinking either wordpress (but not sure if it is possible) or phpnuke/nukeevo.

Hey Dan B,

WordPress should work for what you want to do. In fact, if you want your users to have their own customizable pages you could look into WordPress MU.

As sibichan mentioned, there are also plug-ins like User Submitted Posts, that allow users to submit full posts, images and more.

Just make sure that whatever hosting solution you are currently using is set up for this kind of website. If you are on a basic shared hosting account, you may want to look into VPS or Cloud hosting.

WordPress is the debil!

If you've got the know-how, ditch WP and code your own system. That's what I did, and I am oh-so-much happier for it.

I would use a mixture of WordPress and BuddyPress a free plugin for WordPress which could allow users to post content and is more in mind of social integration.
