    Websites Like DomainTools

It became somewhat of a hobby of mine to lookup details on websites that I have visited and see their states, so I started using domaintools. However, the domaintools website has been offline sporadically, and thus I have been unable to use it.

I have briskly searched Google for websites similar to the domaintools website, but have had no luck in finding any prominent results. If any of you, the all-knowledgeable members of WHT, know any websites that are similar to domaintools, then please tell me.

I am looking for these features:
    • Shows the IP address of the domain.
    • Shows the rankings of the domain.
    • Shows the basic whois details.
Also, does anyone know how to find out what hosting company someone uses? I usually look at the nameservers as the majority of website owners use the hosting companys' dns. But, is there any other way to find out what hosting company someone uses? This has been a question that I have long thought of.

Thanks, and I look forward to your responses.

Note to the Mods: If I posted this topic in the wrong forum, please move it to the appropriate forum. Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience.

I haven't been able to use any of those websites. The last time I believe that I could use domaintools without any delay in loading was 2 days ago.

DomainTools is very dodgy the last few days, if it is even up, it loads very slow and doesn't show the CSS half the time.

Don't the mods use that a lot to verify reviews and what not too?

I usually use http://www.domainwhitepages.com/ to find what host someone is using (if it isn't evident from domaintools)

I imagine that someone might have taken up a similar hobby and is querying domaintools at a high rate using automated tools.

No doubt they'll have it sorted soon.

You can find a lot of detail out by doing a "host" (nslookup on windoze machine) on the domain/fqdn to get the IP of the service, and a whois on the IP to see which block it's in.

Doesn't this just show what datacenter the IP belongs to? I am looking for a way to find who hosts the website.

For example, my host is creativevps. If someone looked at the whois of my domain (www.sentquick.com), it would show that the IP is registered to Oc3 Networks & Web Solutions Llc. It does not show that my host is creativevps. How would you guys find out who hosted me?

Everyone should continue to add links when a website that is a good resource is found. I found a website, but did not post it on here since it already was posted!
