Angry Dreamhost [[[all my sites are down]]]

For the second time in the week all my sites are down

And I do not check all the time!

    Server is cheezit

And I look another big site not belonging to me and it is down too

How can we run our business with such a hoster?

I do have many many sites to move if I want my business not to fall because of Dreamhost

Adwords campaigns were running for hours with all the sites down

    THANK YOU DREAMHOST

What are doing the people of Dreamhost????

Their status page is saying they are moving their "randy" cluster. Perhaps you are located on it, have you checked your e-mails to see if you have received any word on this?

First time they were down during the week, I submitted a ticket and I did not get any answer

It's strange because they do always answer (at least in the past)

Of course I do not have any answer to my ticket of today

I'm really getting nervous about them

A network of sites down is a big big problem

    Low price = low quality

    Definitively

Anyway at the moment Dreamhost are treating their clients like s**t

Well, you kinda get what you pay for in this industry, so wherever you keep paying a few bucks a month for thousands of gigs of bandwidth you're going to get riddled with some sort of issues.

Well I do have another hoster (5 times more expensive than Dreamhost) and I experienced some problems too

Well - I do hope that Dreamhost will loose some clients because of their current poor service

Strongly agreed. Major oversellers like BlueHost/HostGator..etc are bound to run into such problems. Paying 6$ for 6TB space and 15TB is a call for problems

It happens when customers look into price factor rather than quality. Here the problem sounds to me is some technical fault from their service.Just a piece of advice for you my friend , you can't get a trip to a moon for a price of burger.

    Who are you talking about?

Hey guys, a decent hosting service is NOT a trip to the moon

And it has not to be in the xx$ range each depending on the ressources you need

Morever Dreamhost has some interesting features

In my case price was not the only thing for me to go with Dreamhost

And I do have 3 other hosters

Compare what has to be compared before giving your cheap lessons

I agree with the other hosts who replied to your remark and I believe they where only trying to help you out. I also see nothing here that any host cannot do:
http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html - I especially have seen this before on a old host which had a lot of problems (hostrocket)

"Disk Storage at signup 500 GB
Automatically Increases Weekly By: 2 GB
Monthly Bandwidth at signup 5.0 TB
Automatically Increases Weekly By: 40 GB"

The rest looks like its part of cPanel anyway so every host which offers cPanel has 90% of them or can either get their hands on, so whats so special about dreamhost?

Just a small piece of advice. When you have a business that has its success or failure dependant on hosting uptime, treat it with some more respect than putting it on a 5 dollar "all you can eat" hosting account.

Hey guys ! I'm not asking for your advice on what I should do

At the moment you do NOT help in any way with your posts

This thread is just a message to Dreamhost and to wannabe clients

It's just to help people if they come here and are looking for advices on Dreamhost

They will know that today, Dreamhost sucked

    Hopefully tomorrow they will not

    End of the thread

Agreed, been there done that and in the long run that "bargain" hosting package cost me more than a top of the line dedicated would.

    Lesson learnt, and never again.

I have been looking at quality hosts lately. I have some sites on dreamhost. $22 for a whole year with a free domain was too difficult to pass up. I park my domains there, but important sites are hosted elsewhere and I am reminded when I take a look at their main site.

It will renew at $120 a year, do you think I will be renewing at that price? I think not.
