How to transfer huge files without shell access?

I need to transfer a client's site files (over 220 MB) to my server. The client does not use cPanel or have SSH access.

FTP is horribly tedious. I have created the account on my server and have SSH enabled. I have a feeling I can use wget to download the files to the account's home directory, but I am not sure of the correct syntax to recursively download all the directories and the files.

    Could someone help?

    Hi

To do a recursive wget you can use the following command

    wget -r -np http://domain.com/filesiwant/

    Thanks

    1. create a zip or .tar file of the files.
    2. Use http://rapidleech.com/ to transfer the file to your new server.
    3. Unzip or untar the file.

I'd ask the server admin to tar up the files.

The difficulty is that the hosting company is not even providing my client access to their hosting account. They only gave FTP access.

So, I am not sure if asking the serveradmin will help, but thanks all the same for the suggestion.

wget will work on ftp as well as http. ncftp also does recursive get.
