    I'm a mechanical but I'll give it a go.

Power factor correction is real. The questions you should be asking are:
    1. Does that particular device actually do power factor correction as it appears to be claiming?
    2. If it does do PFC, are you being billed extra for having a poor power factor anyway? (most domestic consumers aren't).

It looks like a surge protector at best. PhP 2,499 is USD 61.48.

    Hi!
It is a scam..plain and simple. The only way to reduce electrical cost is to reduce electrical *consumption*. Duh.

    Scam. I didn't graduate EE..but I am a self-taught EE.

    >>Anyway..what uses the most juice in a normal house/apartment?

    >central or window mount air
    >heaters
    >refrigerator
    >dryer

You going to plug any of those into this? I think not.

Bingo. Even if it does correct the power factor, your power company won't even notice.

I think its time we start selling crossbars to old people and telling them it filters the evil out of their power.

Oh, that's a bit ageist, I started as an EE less than 40 years ago, I don't buy crosbows !
Anyway on topic, this concept might work dependong on how your billed, if it was:
    a. used on power hungry loads
    b. tuned to each individual load
    c. used on only inductive loads

For this application, you cannot meet 2 let alone 3 of the above.
An Electric heater / fire even kettle, may be quite power hungry, but power factor as its a resistive load will be virtualy 'unity' - 1, you can't improve on that.

PF correction has its place, but it ain't in the domestic home.

But heh, you youngsters don't listern to us 'Oldies' - -

I think if you want to save on electricity, install some solar panels.

Its funny to see how people try so hard to run a scam!
Why i think its a scam?
Because, they called their brand: OUR BRAND, in the video
If they're good enough to manufacture something so elaborate..they should have a registered company for the product too...
secondly...it was just two people shooting the "commercial"
third: a very dirty handy cam was used..
fourth: NO HOT CHICKS IN THE COMMERCIAL...HUGE TURN OFF FOR ME!!!
